| LINKS: NETWORKING WITH MY FRIENDS |
I am borrowing an idea from a friend (you know who you are!) and including LINKS for people I know personally, and businesses and organizations that I have dealt with. Thanks to networking I have been cast in several roles, heard about some valuable learning opportunities, seen wonderful productions, and made new friends. In that spirit I am listing below links that you might find of interest.
The 4th Wall Actors Workshop I participated in this workshop twice - Fall 2006 and Fall 2007. It was an invaluable 10-week learning experience which culminated in performances at The Producer's Club. I highly recommend this workshop. http://www.the4thwallactorsworkshop.com/
Marie Papp I met Marie at one of Roger's Sound Healing Meditations. Marie is a very talented photographer, specializing in wedding and children's portraits. She also does head shots and publicity photos. If you go to her website you can see a sample of her work. Marie doesn't do what I call "cookie-cutter" photos - she captures people's personalities, and she captures special moments. She is also a sweetheart to work with - energetic and fun. http://www.mariepapp.com/
Mary Jo Rhodes I met Mary Jo in my gym where she trains with my friend and personal trainer, Roger Ansanelli. Unlike me, she is soft-spoken and reserved, so it took me awhile to learn what an interesting and funny woman she is! She has a life-long interest and respect for sea-life, so a few years ago she wrote a 10-book series for children called Undersea Encounters, details of which you can read about on her website. In the Summer of 2009 Mary Jo, along with her friend Susan Newman, launched a new website to bring attention to the environmental threats to frogs, and therefore to the entire ecosystem. Mary Jo also written a fiction book which is in the editing process. http://www.maryjorhodes.com/ http://www.frogsaregreen.com/
Nancy Colasurdo Nancy is a free-lance writer, twice-weekly columnist with Foxbusiness.com, Life Coach, and one very smart and funny woman. I met her at The West Village Discussion Group I attend Tuesday evenings at Cafe Dante (see Symposia listed below). Recently we bumped into each other in a local Hoboken coffee shop and got to talking (easy for me to do), and I shared some of my experiences since moving here in 2003. Nancy asked if she could write a column based on our convesation, so I said "sure. " Heck - I've never had an article written about me before! You can read the column dated 10/24/2008 by going to http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/personal-finance/step-fear-freedom/. Please check out Nancy's website at http://www.nancola.com/. I read her posts daily.
Puppetonia Do you have pre-school children? My friend Cornel Rusu of Hoboken, plus his staff of talented puppeteers, puts on wonderful puppet shows for pre-schoolers. He also does birthday parties. http://www.puppetonia.com/
Roger Ansanelli Singer, actor, sound healer....... Roger is a man of many interests and talents. I met him in his capacity as Head Trainer at my gym and am proud to call him my friend. Roger holds bi-weekly Sound Healing Meditations at the building where I live, teaches seminars at various locations in Manhattan, and he performs at least once a year in concert. Roger also conducts energy (healing) sessions at his office in Hoboken. Check out his website for additional information. Oh yes, and tell him I sent you! http://www.rogeransanelli.com/
Symposia I have been attending a weekly Discussion Group in Greenwich Village which is organized through Symposia. Symposia, based in Hoboken, offers many different community-building events. If you love books, you might also like to stop by the Symposia Book Store on Washington Street in Hoboken. http://www.symposia.us/
